Medicine men are normal here, people share their medication, they rather use a plant or a veggie, not knowing the side effects or the real cause of their symptoms. I always say in Suriname everyone is a doctor, instead of going to one they rather be one. And if those home remedies does not help, they will tell you it might be voodoo and you need to go to a medicine man who will rip you off.
